Dr. Valentina Zahran, DDS, MD
Dr. Valentina Zahran was born and raised in the Northwest suburbs of Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Olentangy Liberty High School in Powell, Ohio. Throughout her life, Dr. Zahran was constantly in and out of the dentist’s office, and always had such a great experience. From the young age of 6, she knew she wanted to be a dentist. Excited to explore the rest of the country, she attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where she received her degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Molecular Genetics and Biology. She continued her travels, and attended the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry where she graduated with her D.D.S. in June 2016. During her time at UCSF, she was the recipient of the Gardner Award, the highest award given by the school that honors scholastic achievement, service, and leadership, and served as the Director of the Community Dental Clinic, which provided free comprehensive dental care to the uninsured and homeless population of San Francisco. Within weeks at UCSF, she quickly fell in love with oral surgery. She continued her training at the University of Pittsburgh, completing the 6-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where she also received her M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After several years exploring the country, Dr. Zahran was excited to move back home to Columbus to be closer to her sisters and her family. She is thrilled to have joined Dr. Larry Towning and Dr. Claire Towning and their amazing staff at East Ohio Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Zahran is a broad-scope oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in nearly all areas of the specialty, including dentoalveolar surgery, wisdom teeth extractions, implantology, benign pathology, general anesthesia, simple and complex grafting, orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, Botox and filler, and sleep apnea.
Outside the office, Dr. Zahran enjoys spending time with her three sisters and her Nonna, taking her loveable, but overweight golden retriever on long walks in the hopes that he sheds a few pounds, playing volleyball, and cooking.
